Naylor Hall’s historical past began in the 1840s when Barrington King built it for H.W. Proudfoot and his wife. It was originally built as a home featuring a four-room clapboard cottage with a warm central fireplace.
In the late 1930s, the property was purchased by Colonel Harrison Broadwell. Broadwell named it Naylor Hall in honor of his wife’s family. He added many of the characteristic improvements that remain today, including the columns, handcrafted woodwork, and the portico encompassing the original structure.
Its current owner, Sunny Bailey, began working for Naylor Hall 25 years ago when she fell in love with the property. She purchased it in 2009 and poured her heart into sprucing it up, restoring its hardwood floors, installing elegant crystal chandeliers, and refurbishing its antique furniture with new ornate fabrics. Sunny’s love for the property and the joy it brings people is evident in every element of the property.
