About The Wimbish House Wedding Venue

Completed in 1906, the Wimbish House wedding venue is located at the Peachtree and 14th Street intersection. It was commissioned by prominent Atlanta attorney William A. Wimbish and designed by W.T. Downing, one of Atlanta’s most well-known architects. This space features an eclectic French Renaissance Revival, or Chateau-Esque, style. The Wimbish House is a designated national, state, and city landmark owned by The Atlanta Women’s Club.

Details of the Grounds

The Wimbish House wedding venue features some neat places to say your “I dos.” Here, you can find a larger, indoor room for 150 guests with a small stage where you can say your vows for all of the room to see. In addition, you’ll be able to adorn the room with beautiful arches, flowers, and greenery for a simple and Chapel-Esque feel for the more traditional couple. There is also a smaller, more intimate room on the property that can accommodate a smaller amount of guests with large windows and beautiful drapery. You can also take advantage of the stunning chandeliers over the heads of the married couple.

Regarding reception spaces, there is a beautiful ballroom with details dating back to the 1920s, with high ceilings, period furniture, and antique crystal chandeliers. Throughout the evening, you’ll get to walk through the entire house and explore multiple spaces. There are also a few extra smaller spaces where you can host your cocktail hour, including the Wimbish Parlor with a curved staircase and the Veranda outdoors, overlooking the property and stunning at sunset.

If you need an area to get ready and prefer to do so on the property, there is a bride and groom’s suite you may be able to utilize for the duration of your wedding day.

Photography Opportunities

As a wedding photographer, finding the perfect places to capture your portraits is one of the top priorities on my list. Luckily, the Wimbish House wedding venue makes that pretty easy. You can choose to venture out and take advantage of some of the fantastic photo spots on the property, including:

  • Front of the house under the middle arch
  • Outdoor halls/porch
  • Grand staircase
  • Tree covered pathways
