Georgia is home to some of the most beautiful countryside in North America. Swan Lake Overlook is tucked into rural Dawsonville, about an hour from Atlanta, with views overlooking the North Georgia Mountains and rolling hills. It’s a stunning place for a secluded and elegant wedding, with charming rustic touches and a little extra personality from its four-legged residents. If you’re looking for a gorgeous, natural venue, I highly recommend you consider a Swan Lake Overlook wedding.

About The Swan Lake Overlook Wedding Venue

In addition to being a gorgeous countryside wedding venue, Swan Lake Overlook in Dawsonville, Georgia, is actually a 200-acre exotic deer farm! The property is home to Sika and Fallow deer that freely roam the rolling hills. The farm itself is home to alpacas, donkeys, emus, horses, and, yes, a few swans. You may even get lucky and get photobombed by an animal or two while taking photos!

Details of the Grounds

To begin your Swan Lake Overlook wedding day, you, your partner, and your respective wedding parties can gather in the beautiful onsite dressing suites. With plenty of natural light, comfortable furnishings, and room to spread out, it’s a lovely place to prepare with hair, makeup, and refreshments. Plus, the light makes it ideal for gorgeous getting-ready shots that will forever capture these last special moments before you say “I do.”

Your ceremony can occur at one of three locations: the Hilltop, patio, or inside the venue. The Hilltop features mature trees and views of the rolling hills that surround the venue. Complete with a decorated archway, it’s the perfect place to embrace the beauty of the countryside as you say your vows. The patio is a covered alternative located in the courtyard of the main venue. Additionally, it’s a great outdoor alternative on rainy days. Or simply if you want a little extra protection from the sun.

The main venue is a gorgeous, rustically elegant space that feels far more like a ballroom than a barn. It has glossy cement floors, ornate brass chandeliers, and spectacular wooden beams supporting the vaulted ceiling. Gorgeous floor-to-ceiling double doors line one wall, bringing in views of the surrounding property. It’s a spectacular venue space with just a few rustic touches that will remind your guests that you’re celebrating somewhere truly special.

There is no shortage of incredible photo opportunities at Swan Lake Overlook. The lake itself is a picturesque backdrop, surrounded by meadows filled with grasses and wildflowers. When the sun begins to set, the entire property lights up with a romantic glow, perfect for stunning portraits. The property’s stunning stone staircases and wrought iron gazebos are also great features for pictures. It’s a truly magical place!
