Atlanta Birth Center is a space that focuses on holistic, comprehensive care throughout your entire pregnancy! The center is staffed by a diverse team of midwives who are deeply passionate about empowering women. Prior to this center opening its doors in 2016, there was only one freestanding, midwife-run birth center in the entire state of Georgia, and it was located in Savannah. Atlanta Birth Center opened its doors to ensure everyone in the city could finally have access to their dream births!
Services
Atlanta Birth Center offers holistic birth options to low-risk patients living in the area. Their goal is to ensure both you and your baby remain safe from the first few weeks of pregnancy all the way through the postpartum stage. If they ever feel as though you would benefit more from an in-hospital team, they will transfer your care and provide you with all the resources you need.
You will have all your prenatal appointments in the center with your midwife. During those visits, they are going to work with you to create the perfect birth plan! They will never, ever rush you through those appointments. Instead, they will answer all your questions and ensure you feel ready for your delivery! Once those contractions begin, you will head into the center, where you will be placed in a home-like setting. You will be able to move around, snack, and do anything else you need to do to get through labor. You will also have access to a birthing pool if you’d prefer. After your baby arrives, they will give you a few hours to establish a bond. From there, you are free to head home!
Specialty
While Atlanta Birth Center primarily focuses on out-of-hospital births, they are determined to match every woman with the best form of care. They can provide you with well-woman visits, including contraceptive counseling and annual pap smears. They also work with a small number of hospital births each year for all patients, including high-risk candidates.
